About

Sandra Welte was born in Sint-Oedenrode, the Netherlands on 10th Juli in 1987. Currently she is living in Den Bosch, the Netherlands and working as a freelance animator.

"Lift off" is her graduation film from her 4 years' Bachelor of Design study, specialising animation, at St. Joost Art and Design Academy, Breda, the Netherlands.

The film was made mainly in Maya and After Effects. From concept to rendering the proces took about 10 months and it was premiered 27 June 2012. The music composition was done by Maarten van Strien and the Sound Design was done by Marcel Bouvrie.

Synopsis

​

​Joey is a clumpsy bluebeakbird that lives in the beautifull jungle of Puerto d'Azu. Because of his small wings he can not fly. But when he finds the love of his live at the top of a tall tree he has to be inventive. Will he ever be able to reach the love of his live?​
